The fact of your having a roommate can complicate relations between you and your Russian wife unless you take care of the situation beforehand. It is ok for you to have someone else living in your place, either your brother, or your young cousin, or your renter. But whoever it is, this guy might be a nuisance for your wife.
She is the one who is going to be in charge of the house – that is how she was raised. Your place is her home now.
If you roommate is an idler who spends his time reclining at ease on the sofa, watching TV, and living a mess all around him, she is going to hate this guy. Even if his manners are not culpable, his presence in your house might be incompatible with her expectations. For her, your roommate is an intruder.
To him, your Russian wife is a nuisance too. He had been comfortable living at your place before her arrival. You and your roommate have learned to live together peacefully and got used to it. But here comes the new hostess and everything is changed, because she just cannot ignore him.
The guy might defy the new rules of co-existence and argue against her. One day you will be gotten to choose between your wife and your roommate. So even if you are close relatives and he helps you with your rent ask him to move to another place beforehand. After all, what is more important to you – your wife or him?
