The recent statistics provided by "The Economist" revealed the fact that in the former Soviet Union countries like Russia and Ukraine there were only 88 men for 100 women. What it means is that more than 10 million women in Russia will never be able to get married.
Take a look at the 20th century history. 20 million Soviet people were killed during World War 2. 20 million fell victims of the concentration camps’ system. The majority of them were men.
The lack of partners made Russian women fight for the opportunities to find them. That is one of the reasons why they take such a good care of their looks.
Another reason why beautiful Russian ladies want to immigrate to America is in their expectation of a better social and economic situation and financial security. The thing is, the USA has always been a country of immigrants. Why should Russian ladies be different?
It goes without saying that those who had left their countries intended to improve their lives from every perspective. For example, citizens of Spain arrived to the New World in search of the mythical fountain of youth. The Englishmen were looking for the religious freedom. The Irish fled from the famine in their country not knowing they would face serious hardships in the new place as well.
It is not a secret that the attitude to the new waves of immigrants in the Western world is pretty negative, and Russian women are not an exception. But prejudice has nothing to do with real people until you know them personally.
