Scammers and Russian Brides

Scam matchmaking agencies functioning in many cities of the former Soviet Union prefer anonymity. They do not provide any contact information about their offices and never give any reliable information to their customers. Fake Russian bride agencies do not advertise their services either.

The scheme of their work is pretty simple. They place some girls’ photos at various Internet websites where this service is free of charge. The “girls” are usually married young women who need money. They are not untrue to their husbands. They are not going to look for new partners from abroad. These ladies just bring their photos to the agencies and the agencies do the rest of the work.

The scammers choose a web resource where their fake bride can be registered, and start exchanging correspondence with men on her behalf. Remember that men pay for all the services provided by the scam marriage agency. The “bride” will get a certain sum of money for her fiancĂ©s’ expenses. Gradually, the poor guys fall in love with the beauties and start planning their trips to Russia to meet with them in person. They expect a warm reception from the women with whom they have found so much in common during their communication. Finally, when these men arrive to Russia, their ladies give the cold shoulder to them. Men obediently pay for all the services that include lodging, hiring an interpreter and a personal driver who also work for the agency, etc. When everything is paid for, they are left alone and have to go back home dumbstruck and confused. In the meantime, their ladies get their share of profit.

So be very careful when you plan your first meeting with your Russian fiancé. Observe what kind of arrangements she wants to make, for example whether she wants to have her own interpreter or a personal driver. If you are going to meet in a third country, an alarming sign is when she would want to bring an interpreter with her.
