Travelling To Russia in winter

If you are going to Russia in winter to meet in person with you beautiful Russian bride, think about what you are going to wear. Russian winters can be really cold, so get prepared to the severe change of climate before you arrive to Russia. If you are from Alaska, it will be easy for you to adapt to Russian frosts if you take the things that you usually wear in winter with you. But if you are from California or another state where hot and mild weather prevails, do buy the warmest clothes available at the local supermarkets.

You will need a very warm winter jacket or a heavy winter coat, a shirt and a wool sweater, the warmest fur-lined shoes available, winter gloves, fleece-lined jeans or trousers, a wool scarf, a wool winter hat and warm socks.

When in Russia, take care of your feet and hands so that they stayed dry. It will prevent you from freezing and catching a cold. It will also work out best if you wear your clothes in layers. Remember though that a layering system is uncomfortable when you are going to a restaurant or another warm place where you can get by taxi.

The last piece of advice: Russian men prefer wearing clothes of reserved colors, so if you do not want to look like a tourist, use such colors as dark blue, brown or black.
